Hoover Neighborhood Real Estate Market

Hoover is made up of more than 20 neighborhoods and communities, including Inverness, Ross Bridge, and Shades Mountain. Real estate analysts found that in 2014, the best-selling neighborhoods included Greystone, Lake Cyrus, and Trace Crossings.

Some of Hoover’s historic homes date back to the community’s inception in the 1930s. The historic homes for sale in the neighborhood range from charming bungalows to iconic mid-century modern styles. Many of these houses offer a blend of original details like front porch gas lanterns along with updated wiring, plumbing, and HVAC.

Newer housing options reflect Hoover’s rapid development over the last two decades. There are plenty of gorgeous properties available built within the last five years, including several within planned and gated communities. Most of these property listings offer four to five bedrooms and three or more baths. This type of real estate in Hoover starts in the mid-200s and ranges up through the mid-900s. Lakefront property is available in a range of price points. Luxury real estate in Hoover is plentiful as well, with home prices for several stately properties well over the million-dollar mark. The Hoover community is perhaps best known for Riverchase Galleria, a supermall with more than 1.5 million square feet of retail space. Offering a wide range of department stores, fashion boutiques, and specialty shops, as well as half a dozen dining and snack locations, the Galleria also hosts events including a pinball league.

Another popular site in the Hoover neighborhood is the Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa, which boasts a four-diamond rating from AAA as well as the world’s second-longest golf course. The spa offers a wide range of luxury services and treatments.

Outdoor enthusiasts will find no shortage of recreation near the Hoover neighborhood. The Moss Rock Preserve features 12 miles of hiking trails, and sharp-eyed observers might spot an armadillo, red fox, or white-tail deer. The Aldridge Botanical Gardens include a lake, walking trails, and educational events. The gardens showcase native flora, particularly hydrangea. There are a dozen other public parks throughout the Hoover community as well.

Hoover Metropolitan Stadium hosts the SEC baseball tournament and serves as the home field for the Hoover High School football team. It’s also the site of numerous sporting events throughout the year.

The Library Theater is a professional playhouse bringing affordable entertainment to Hoover community residents. Past performances have included the Alabama Ballet, the Celtic Tenors, and Pride and Prejudice.

Hoover Neighborhood Schools

Children of Hoover neighborhood residents attend Hoover City School District. There are 10 elementary schools, four middle schools, two high schools, and an alternative school. Several of these schools, including both Spain Park and Hoover High Schools, receive a perfect 10 of 10 rating by the school ranking website Great Schools. Jefferson State Community College and Faulkner University both have campuses in Hoover, and the University of Alabama in Birmingham is a short drive away.
